Albany Med is the busiest Trauma Center in New York State. As a Level One Trauma Center, our multi-disciplinary emergency team works around the clock to provide the most advanced care found in the Northeast. We are a regional Level One Trauma Center, serving a large area of Upstate New York and the Northeast region. Our services include a Comprehensive Stroke Center, STEMI, advanced critical care services, advanced neonatology, and pediatric services. Working with first responders and the LifeNet air-medical crews, we care for patients transported to us, either from a scene or transferring facility for the higher level of care that is unique to Albany Medical Center, in our region. The Department of Emergency Medicine is divided into several different subspecialties, including:
• Adult Emergency Medicine
• Pediatric Emergency Medicine
• ED Observation Unit
• ED Behavioral Health
